In an effort to reduce the number of garden refuse fires, we are pleased to offer a free wood chipping program to residents of Parksville during the spring each year. Pick up is provided for small trees and branches, which can be processed through a chipper. Due to safety issuess, vegetation other than branches (such as leaves, pampas grass and vines) cannot be chipped and may be taken to the Church Road Transfer Station. This annual wood chipping program is advertised in local newspapers a week or so prior to the dates of pickup which takes place following the Easter long-weekend.
